Best of you

40. "The most beloved of people according to Allah is he who brings most benefit, and the most beloved of deeds according to Allah the Mighty, the Magnificent, is that you bring happiness to a fellow Muslim, or relieve him of distress, or pay off his debt or stave away hunger from him. It is more beloved to me that I walk with my brother Muslim in his time of need than I stay secluded in the mosque for a month. Whoever holds back his anger, Allah will cover his faults and whoever suppresses his fury while being able to execute it, Allah will fill his heart with satisfaction on the Day of Standing. Whoever walks with his brother Muslim in need until he establishes that for him, Allah will establish his feet firmly on the day when all feet shall slip. Indeed, bad character ruins deeds just as vinegar ruins honey." [Tabarâni, Hasan]

Quotes to remember

10. `Umar (ra) said, “Do not learn knowledge for three things and do not leave it for three things. Do not learn it to dispute over it, to show off with it, or to boast about it. Do not leave seeking it out of shyness, dislike for it, or contending with ignorance in its stead.”

Salafs sayings

It is reported that Imām Al-Zuhrī – Allāh have mercy on him – said:

Those of our scholars who went before us used to say,”Adherence to the Sunnah is salvation, but knowledge is taken away quickly, so the revival of knowledge means the stability of religion and worldly affairs, and the loss of knowledge means the loss of all that.”

Al-Lālakā`ī, Sharh Usūl I’tiqād Ahl Al-Sunnah article 136

Question:

Shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-'Uthaymeen (May Allaah have mercy upon him) was asked about the ruling of removing the socks with every ablution out of precaution for ones purification.
Answer:

This is in opposition to the Sunnah and contains within it a resemblance of the Rawaafidh (Shee'ah) those who make it impermissible to wipe over the Khuffs (leather socks), the Prophet sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said to Mugheerah (bin Shu'bah may Allaah be pleased with him), when he (Mugheerah) intended to remove his Khuffs:
"ÏÚåãÇ ÝÅäì ÃÏÎáÊåãÇ ØÇåÑÊíä"

"Leave them, for indeed I put them on in a state of purification."

And he wiped over them sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam.
