Quotes to remember

4. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him) said:“He who gave up disputing while he is right, a palace of high rank in Paradise will be built for him. He who gave up disputing while he is a fabricator, a palace in the center of Paradise will be built for him.” (al-Tirmidhi who declared it as hasan)

Salafs sayings

It is reported that Imām Al-Zuhrī – Allāh have mercy on him – said:

Those of our scholars who went before us used to say,”Adherence to the Sunnah is salvation, but knowledge is taken away quickly, so the revival of knowledge means the stability of religion and worldly affairs, and the loss of knowledge means the loss of all that.”

Al-Lālakā`ī, Sharh Usūl I’tiqād Ahl Al-Sunnah article 136

Keeping a Picture to Remember Somebody By

Question:

Can a person take his own picture and then send it to his family for Eid or for some other occasion?
Answer:

There are many Hadiths mentioning that Allaahs Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) forbade pictures, cursed the people who make pictures, and warned them various forms of punishment. Therefore, it is not allowed for a Muslim to take his or any other animate creatures pictures unless necessity dictates that he does so. Necessity, in this case, means passport photos, identity photos, and the like. We ask Allaah Almighty to rectify the Muslims affairs and to guide our leaders to adhere to His Shariah while abstaining from what goes against it. He is indeed the best to ask.
