Salafs sayings

Abu ad-Dardaa narrated [Saheeh Muslim, No.6588]: The Messenger of Allaah said: «No believing servant supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), except that the Angels say: "The same be for you too".»
al-Imaam an-Nawawee comments [Riyaadh as-Saaliheen #1494]: This hadeeth makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, "O Allaah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others".

The Ruling Concerning the Papers that Contain the Name of Allah

Question:

We find that some of the verses of the Qur'an printed in the newspaper or writings, as well as, ''In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, The Merciful," [1] at the beginning of some papers and letters. What do we do with such verses after we are finished reading the newspaper or letter? Should we tear it up or burn it or what should be done?
Answer:

It is a must, after one is done with the papers or pages that contain Allah's Name, to safeguard the papers, by burning them or burying them in clean soil. This is to protect the Qur'anic verses and Allah's Names from being degraded. It is not allowed to throw them in the garbage heaps or into the streets or to use them as different kinds of sheets, such as tablecloths. Otherwise, one is degrading the names and verses and not safekeeping them.
