39. "The most beloved of speech according to Allah the Most High is that which Allah chose for his Angels: Subhâna Rabbî wa bihamdihî, Subhâna Rabbî wa bihamdihî, Subhâna Rabbî wa bihamdihî." [Tirmidhî, Sahîh]

Quotes to remember

23. ‘Ali ibn Zaid mentioned, “A man of the Quraysh spoke harshly to the Caliph `Umar Ibn ‘Abdul ‘Aziz who remained silent for a long time and then said, “You wish that the devil rouses in me the pride of the Caliphate and I treat you so rudely that you can take revenge tomorrow (in the Afterlife) on me.”

Salafs sayings

Abu ad-Dardaa narrated [Saheeh Muslim, No.6588]: The Messenger of Allaah said: «No believing servant supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), except that the Angels say: "The same be for you too".»
al-Imaam an-Nawawee comments [Riyaadh as-Saaliheen #1494]: This hadeeth makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, "O Allaah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others".

The Ruling Concerning Crying due to illness

Question:

I am ill and sometimes I cry because of what happens to me after my illness. Is this kind of crying considered an act of opposition to Allah and not being pleased with what he had decreed? I do not do this action wilfully. Similarly, does that ruling also include when I talk to my relatives, telling them about my illness?
Answer:

There is no harm in crying if it is simply tears coming from the eyes, without wailing. This is based on the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi-wasallam) statement , when his son Ibrahim died,
''The eyes shed tears, the heart grieves but we do not say anything except what is pleasing to Allah. We are by your departure Ibrahim, certainly grieved. [1]

Hadith with that meaning are many. There is no harm in your talking to your relatives and friends about your disease as long as you Praise Allah, thank Him, and extol Him, and ask Him for health, following the permissible means. We advise you to have patience and hope for reward from Allah. I give you glad tidings, as Allah has stated,

''Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full without reckoning." (Surah al-Zumar:10)

The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi-wasallam) also said,

''A Muslim is not afflicted with fatigue, sorrow, disease, sadness, or hurt, even if it be a prick of a thorn, except that due to it Allah expiates some of his sins." [2]

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu 'alaihi-wasallam) also said,

''If Allah wants good for a person, he afflicts him with trials." [3]

We ask Allah to grant you a cure and health, as well as goodness of the heart and deeds. Verily He is the Hearer the Responder.
