Quotes to remember

22. `Umar ibn Abdul Aziz wrote to one of his governors and said, “Do not punish at the time of anger. If you are angry with any man, keep him in detention. When your anger is appeased punish him in proportion to his crime.”

Salafs sayings

It is reported that Imām Al-Zuhrī – Allāh have mercy on him – said:

Those of our scholars who went before us used to say,”Adherence to the Sunnah is salvation, but knowledge is taken away quickly, so the revival of knowledge means the stability of religion and worldly affairs, and the loss of knowledge means the loss of all that.”

'Untruthful Testimony' Whilst Fasting

Question:

What is the meaning of 'untruthful testimony' and does it invalidate fasting?
Answer:

Untruthful testimony is one of the greatest of the major sins, and it is for a man to testify to something which he does not know, or to testify to something when he knows that it is not true. It does not invalidate the fast, but it decreases its reward.
Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-`Uthaymeen
