Salafs sayings

Abu ad-Dardaa narrated [Saheeh Muslim, No.6588]: The Messenger of Allaah said: «No believing servant supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), except that the Angels say: "The same be for you too".»
al-Imaam an-Nawawee comments [Riyaadh as-Saaliheen #1494]: This hadeeth makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, "O Allaah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others".

His Faith in Allaah Almighty Prevented Yusuf From Evil

Question:

In Surah Yusuf, Allaah Almighty says:
{had he not seen the evidence (Burhan) of his Lord} [Yusuf 12:24]

Here, what does Burhan (evidence) mean?
áóæúáÇ Ãóä ÑøóÃóì ÈõÑúåóÇäó ÑóÈøöåö

Answer:

Allaah Almighty says:
æóáóÞóÏú åóãøóÊú Èöåö æóåóãøó ÈöåóÇ áóæúáÇ Ãóä ÑøóÃóì ÈõÑúåóÇäó ÑóÈøöåö

And indeed she did desire him and he would have inclined to her desire, had he not seen the evidence of his Lord [Yusuf 12:24]

The Burhan from his Lord, which acted as a barrier between him and doing what he would have been inclined to do, was his faith in Allaah Almighty and his fear of Him Almighty, for one's faith in Allaah Almighty protects one from sinning, from perpetrating unlawful acts. And the more one is knowledgeable of Allaah Almighty, the more will one fear Him; Allaah Almighty says:

ÅöäøóãóÇ íóÎúÔóì Çááøóåó ãöäú ÚöÈóÇÏöåö ÇáúÚõáóãóÇÁ

It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear Allaah

(Fatir 35:28)
Yusuf saw his Lord's evidence, which was a light that Allaah Almighty infused into his heart, and the source of this light was faith and piety.
