Best of you

46. "The best of you are those with the longest lives and best in action." [Hâkim, Sahîh]

Quotes to remember

29. A nomad said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ “Advise me.” And he ﷺ said, “If a man defamed you with what he knows about you, do not defame him with what you know about him. For the sin is against him.” The nomad said, “I never abused any person after that.”

Salafs sayings

Abu ad-Dardaa narrated [Saheeh Muslim, No.6588]: The Messenger of Allaah said: «No believing servant supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), except that the Angels say: "The same be for you too".»
al-Imaam an-Nawawee comments [Riyaadh as-Saaliheen #1494]: This hadeeth makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, "O Allaah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others".

Clapping One's Hands and Whistling Question:

What is the ruling on people whistling and clapping their hands in parties? Answer: This practice appears to be taken from non-Muslims; therefore; it is not an appropriate thing for a Muslim to do. When a Muslim is joyful about something he says 'Allaahu Akbar (Allaah is the greatest)', or 'SubhanAllaah (How perfect Allaah is!)'. Furthermore, it is incorrect to say 'Allaahu Akbar' in unison with a group, as some people do. A person should say this by himself; there is no basis to saying so in unison with others. Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-`Uthaymeen Fatawa Islamiyah, vol.8, p.125, DARUSSALAAM
